Shyam is a veteran in the Commercial Vehicle Industry with over 30 years of extensive experience with a 360-degree view    encompassing profit center management, managing a business in   the   OEM as well as in the retail format   besides helming product strategy and business   development.

He has held senior positions in the Commercial organisation at Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd and Eicher Motors Ltd.

While with VE Commercial   Vehicles Ltd (2009-2020) he managed, over the years, a multitude of areas like Strategy & Product Planning, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Retail Business and Network Strategy. Also held the P&L responsibility for the Company Owned & Company Operated Outlets.

Was part of the Management Team of the MD & CEO of the company besides being on the Product Board of the JV with Volvo (as head of Product Strategy& Planning).

Shyam has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)—Marketing. Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and is a Mechanical Engineer from   College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras University. 

Post his superannuation he has been associated as a Jury member (since 2020) at the annual Apollo CV Awards.

Sporadically writes articles about the automotive industry.
