Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, popularly known as “Ramki”, joined Tata Motors in 1985 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, with the Excavator Division. In the course of his professional journey, he has held various leadership positions covering key business functions within Tata Motors, namely New Product Introduction for Commercial Vehicles, Sales and Marketing for Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Sales & Marketing for Commercial Vehicle Business Unit and Commercial Vehicles Product Strategy, Project Management and Customer Value Creation.

He has been instrumental in several path-breaking initiatives in the Commercial Vehicle landscape that has benefitted key stakeholders and key communities. In the product area – popularising multi-axle trucks, factory-fitted cabins on tractors and tippers, fully-built vehicles, radial tyres on heavy trucks, and the modular; state-of-the-art; World-class range of trucks – the Prima. He has played a crucial role in the introduction of Key account Management, enhancing Customer Loyalty programmes and award-winning marketing initiatives such as the T1 Prima Truck racing and the “Hamare Bus Ki Baat Hai”!  He has also spearheaded the modernization of the Commercial Vehicle Network, introduced “Dronas’ for training channel partners teams, and instituted a Channel Partner Scorecard (CPSC) for enhanced Channel performance and Customer Experience.

In his current role as Global Head – Customer Care for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Division, Mr. Ramakrishnan has direct responsibilities of customer engagement, field service support, spare parts business, channel partner profitability and engagement for India and overseas markets of Tata Motors.

Mr. Ramakrishnan is also holding positions as Director on Board of Automobile Corporation of Goa Limited (ACGL), Tata Motors Marcopolo Limited (TMML), Tata Motors Insurance Broking & Allied Services (TMIBASL), Tata Motors Limited Distribution (TMLD) and Tata Motors Finance Solutions Ltd (TMFSL).
