Mr. Namit Jain, the Founder & CEO of ZEN Mobility, a Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) OEM engaged in design and manufacturing of customized & purpose-built EVs for Last mile delivery (LMD), brings his innate passion for innovation and technical design to everything he does. As the CEO, he leverages his engineering degrees from esteemed technical universities in Germany wherein he spent 6 years and was exposed to a plethora of technologies & experiences as a launch pad and adds sterling leadership qualities and management skills which he learnt from his time at Stanford University (USA) to aspire to become a change maker in the future mobility space.

Due to his background in automotive engineering & design, Mr. Jain has always envisioned creating innovative, affordable mobility solutions that have a positive impact on the environment. To that extent, he developed his technical thinking and problem-solving skills in Germany while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Carl Benz School, KIT (where, ironically, the first automobile was invented). He went on to complete his master’s degree in Automotive Production Engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany. Thereafter
he spent some time in Italy to do a course in Car Design from IED Torino and then went on to study management at world-renowned Stanford University which is in the heart of Silicon Valley – a paradise for Tech. entrepreneurs.

It was his interest in electric mobility that inspired him to opt for his master thesis project in his final year in a similar space. He researched closely with the institute wherein a German start-up was incubated. This startup is now a renowned EV manufacturer of semi-trucks and cargo vehicles for companies like DHL. At that time, he realized the potential of cargo vehicles in Europe and how relevant EV technology is when it comes to the logistics sector, especially last mile delivery.

He immediately understood the value innovatively designed lightweight EVs would bring to the Indian mobility space, especially logistics. This ignited the idea of conceptualizing a purpose-built solution for last mile mobility in a country like India which has its own peculiar challenges and this thought led to the beginning of a new journey – Zen Mobility.
