Mr. K Manikandan is currently Heading Sourcing Development in Ashok Leyland new technologies / products for Ashok Leylanda.

He is a Quality Professional with 24 Years of Experience in Commercial Vehicle Industry and in Various aspects of Quality Management. He is a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and Initiated the Lean Six Sigma Movement in Ashok Leyland.

He has established Quality Management Systems in various manufacturing units of Ashok Leyland and improved it through the Quality Certification Process like TS 16949 etc. He has been trained by JUSE, Tokyo on TQM Implementation and now plays an important role in implementing TQM in Ashok Leyland and Challenging the prestigious Deming Award for Ashok Leyland. Apart from Professional interest , he also takes part in social upliftment activities, his work during the last Chennai flood was remarkable.

He plays an active role in NIQR, National Institution for Quality and Reliability , a Non-Profit Organization which enables Indian Industry to compete globally through its various Quality and Reliability Programs

He loves to interact with budding engineers and so far he has interacted with more than 25000 students in various academic institutions. He is a BE Mechanical graduate from NIT, Trichy and MBA from BITS, Pilani
