As a Structural design specialist in the SSAB Knowledge Service Center Mr. Joao Preichardt works in developing lighter, stronger and more sustainable products made from high strength steel. He is a mechanical engineer with specialization at the automotive industry from Federal University of Paraná, Brazil. He has held positions at Volkswagen Brazil, Volvo Trucks and Renault Commercial Vehicles. His journey with SSAB started in 2009, when he joined the company working as a Technical Development Manager responsible for structural steel products in South America. At this position he has had a dedicated focus on the use of advanced high strength steel in the transport segment. He has  managed several projects  targeted at reaching the best performance regarding tare weight vs. net weight for a wide range of road equipment by the use of high strength steel.

In 2014 he joined the Structural Technology team at the Knowledge Service Center in SSAB Sweden. In his 8 years of experience directly working at the transport segment with high strength steels he has managed countless product upgrading projects in all continents.
