Mr. Gopi has 25+ years’ experience in Automobile New Product Engineering through the entire lifecycle from concept startup to commercial production. Passion for Modular design architecture providing significant operational efficiency while increasing the product portfolio.

Currently leading the New Energy and Safety initiatives at Ashok Leyland. New Energy includes LNG, Hydrogen, Fuel cell and Electric trucks. In safety,integration of ADAS and Autonomous features as applicable to commercial vehicles.

Earlier as the Chief Engineer of the AVTR platform delivered India’s first Modular Truck Platform in the MHCV segment from 19Tons to 55Tons. Prior to AVTR, led Ashok Leyland successful foray into light commercial vehicle segment as Chief Engineer for DOST and Partner Platforms.

Experienced in European and Japanese Design cultures / processes through collaborations and Joint ventures. Has led core team in development of NPD processes with detailed knowledge on Matrix BOM management systems.
