Dr. S.S. Thipse is currently serving as Senior Deputy Director in ARAI and heading the engine development, environment research and alternative fuels portfolios in ARAI. He has completed his Masters in Thermal sciences from Bradley University, USA and his Ph.D. from New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA in the field of Alternative Fuels Combustion. He has Research experience of over 25 years in the auto industry. He represents ARAI on technical committees of ministry of road transport, heavy industries, petroleum and natural gas, science and technology, new and renewable energy, environment and forests etc. He represents India on the ISO TC 22 committee on gaseous fuel standards. He is chairman of BIS TED-26 national standards committee and Panel Convener for AISC on alternative fuels. He has published 14 books and has 6 patents to his credit. He has 100+ publications in international conferences and international journals.
