Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd is a Maharatna CPSE and Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company with Annual Gross Sales of Rs 2,95,713 crore and Profit after Tax of Rs 6,029 crore during FY 2018-19. HPCL has a strong presence in Refining & Marketing of petroleum products in the country.

The total sale of products for HPCL during 2018-19 was 38.71 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT). During 2018-19, HPCL processed 18.44 MMT of crude, achieving capacity utilization of 117%.

HPCL owns and operates Refineries at Mumbai & Visakhapatnam with designed capacities of 7.5 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) & 8.3 MMTPA respectively. HPCL also owns the largest lube refinery of the country at Mumbai, producing lube oil base stocks with capacity of 428 TMTPA. HPCL holds 48.99% equity stake in JV company, HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) which operates a 11.3 MMTPA capacity refinery at Bathinda in Punjab and also holds equity stake of 16.96% in the 15 MMTPA Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL).

A new 9 MMTPA capacity greenfield Refinery cum Petrochemical Complex is being set up at Barmer, Rajasthan in joint venture with the Government of Rajasthan.

HPCL has a vast marketing network consisting of 14 Zonal offices in major cities and 133 Regional Offices facilitated by a Supply & Distribution infrastructure comprising 41 Depots, 42 Terminals/TOPs, 43 Aviation Service Stations, 49 LPG Bottling Plants & 6 Lube Blending plants. The customer touch points constitute of 15,739 Retail Outlets,1638 SKO/LDO dealers, 257 Lube distributors, 110 Commissioning & Forwarding Agents, and 5,979 LPG Distributorships with a customer base of over 8.43 crore LPG consumers (domestic & non-domestic). HPCL has the second largest share of product pipelines in India with a cross country pipeline network of 3,370 km.
