Mr Neelkanth Marathe is the Executive Director of Emission Control Manufacturers Association (ECMA) in New Delhi. ECMA represents global manufacturers of exhaust aftertreatment systems through its 19 member companies engaged in R&D, manufacturing, testing and supply of exhaust after-treatment systems essentially required to meet stringent emission limits from on-road and off-road engine applications. ECMA holds technical conferences for dissemination of knowledge and advanced technologies in the areas of emission controls and sustainable cleaner air. 16th Conference ECT 2025 is scheduled in October 2025 in New Delhi. ECMA participates in several committees dealing with rules and policy framing related to new regulations such as forthcoming BS7 norms.
Prior to that, Mr Marathe had a long professional career with ARAI, Pune for more than 3 decades. He was Senior Deputy Director & Head of Powertrain Design and Engine Development. He was involved in more than 28 new concept engine designs and 55 engine upgradation projects for different applications for many domestic and overseas OEMs. His engine design portfolio ranges from 8 hp gasoline to 1500 hp diesel engines. He has also developed many software codes for the design of engine systems and components. He also served as Director of ARAI.
Mr Marathe is a member of CPCB Standing Committee on “Emissions from Off-road Vehicles and Construction Equipment”.
